Renowned American artist Robert Wilson will present Mother, an immersive installation combining art, light, and sound, as part of the Cultural Programme at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2025. The work, featuring music by Arvo Pärt, is inspired by Michelangelo’s Pietà Rondanini and will be showcased at the Museo della Pietà Rondanini – Castello Sforzesco from 6 April to 18 May. Organized in collaboration with Comune di Milano | Cultura, the installation extends beyond Design Week, aligning with Milano Art Week and allowing visitors to experience the piece throughout the following weeks.

“Mother” unfolds as a 30-minute sequence of music, light, and imagery, accessible to visitors through prior booking at the Castello Sforzesco ticket office. From 6 to 13 April, the installation will feature a live performance of “Stabat Mater”, performed by Vox Clamantis, conducted by Jaan-Eick Tulve, and La Risonanza, led by Fabio Bonizzoni.

Robert Wilson will also be a special guest at the inaugural “Euroluce International Lighting Forum”, an initiative led by Annalisa Rosso in collaboration with APIL to explore innovation in lighting. Taking place on 10 and 11 April, the forum will feature masterclasses, roundtables, and workshops at The Forest of Space Arena (Pad. 2), designed by Sou Fujimoto. The programme includes 20 international speakers, bringing together experts from lighting design, architecture, set design, science, and related disciplines.

Robert Wilson, Renwoned American Artist says, “Light is what creates space. Without light, there is no space. Albert Einstein said that light was the measure of all things. I usually start with light.”
